Legislative Affairs Analyst, Taiwan

We are a fast-growing company and seek a talented, highly motivated Legislative Affairs Analyst in our Taipei office to support a growing client services team on a part-time basis with the expectation that it will become a full-time position in the future.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Build networks and relationships with members of the legislature as well as key staff members; identify and engage key executive branch officials who are responsible for LY engagement.

  • Monitor important legislative bills and the government’s legislative agenda through both the executive and legislative branches.

  • Provide essential input to clients on the priorities and actions of legislators, identifying and engaging legislators who are important to the clients’ interests.

  • Monitor and engage the legislative caucuses of the DPP, KMT, NPP, PFP and TSU; identify key priorities and engage on issues of importance to BGA clients.

  • Formulate strategies based on BGA client needs to engage the LY through facilitating meetings and securing quantifiable outcomes.

  • Provide well-written, succinct, actionable reports on LY activities.

  • Represent BGA at meetings as requested by BGA Taiwan leaders or by BGA headquarters.
  • Provide other support as requested by BGA Taiwan leaders or by BGA headquarters

Qualifications Include:
  • Business level English and native level Chinese, both written and oral.

  • A comprehensive and well developed network within Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan specifically and the executive branch generally.

  • A keen bi-partisan understanding of Taiwan’s political-economic environment and the ability to navigate it on behalf of clients.

  • University degree and relevant professional experience.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic internet applications are required, as is enthusiasm and ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
