In his role as vice president, John oversees client services and spearheads business development. Working closely with BGA’s senior directors, country managers, and as a member of the executive committee, he ensures BGA is directly addressing client needs and provides leadership on crafting engagements that seek deep integration and alignment with BGA’s clientele. Based in Los Angeles, John helps bolster BGA’s presence on the West Coast.

John previously served as senior director at BGA for five years. He managed a portfolio of Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of sectors ranging from information and communications technology, to oil and gas, to healthcare and pharmaceuticals. John spent part of this period based out of Singapore, where he helped build and support BGA’s country offices, while traveling the Indo-Pacific region extensively meeting with clients, business leaders and government officials.

Earlier in his career, John served as regional director for BrooksBowerAsia (BBA), where he headed the research office in Washington, D.C. In his four years with BBA, John focused on the countries of mainland Southeast Asia, while also analyzing developments in ASEAN and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) nations.

John also has experience working in development and with nongovernmental organizations in a variety of countries. In Pakistan, John focused on rural education, work that brought him to far flung areas of that volatile and diverse country. In Costa Rica, John teamed up with the environmental organization PRETOMA to focus on wildlife preservation. In Thailand, John worked with community organizations and government agencies that were tackling the effects of globalization on the economy. John puts this on-the-ground experience to good use at BGA.

John holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
