Amar is a leading international expert and senior policy advisor on Mongolia, having spent 18 years working with the key policy-makers, senior executives and opinion leaders across Asia and North America. He has close ties to Mongolian policymakers, business leaders, civil society, the media and the diplomatic corps.

Amar writes for and edits Mongolia Weekly and manages the activities of the Canada Mongolia Chamber of Commerce. Previously, he advised global miner Rio Tinto on strategic communications in the Asia-Pacific on the political landscape and policy approach in Mongolia. Amar started his career as a diplomat representing Mongolian interests at the United Nations in New York.

Amar obtained master degrees in public policy and diplomacy from the Australian National University and has bachelor and master degrees in international politics from the National University of Mongolia. Amar is a native Mongolian based in Canada and speaks English, Mongolian and Russian.
