Phuoc Doan is the legal and policy director for BowerGroupAsia in Vietnam. He is a lawyer with extensive legal practice and policy development experience in both the private and public sectors in Vietnam. Phuoc advises companies on legal and policy issues and assists BGA’s clients in developing government relations in a variety of sectors.
Prior to joining the BGA Vietnam team, Phuoc worked for Allen & Overy, a top-tier law firm based in London. Phuoc advised corporate clients on various legal issues with regard to competition, corporate mergers and acquisitions, real estate, foreign investment, the environment, dispute settlement and administrative enforcement.
Phuoc also spent eight years working for the Vietnam Competition Authority, where he was appointed in 2006 as one of the first anti-trust investigators in Vietnam and held the position of deputy director of the Unfair Competition Division from 2008 to 2012. In his position, Phuoc participated in various law and policy development projects, and was a member of groups drafting a number of laws and regulations in Vietnam.
Phuoc received a LLM degree from Queen Mary University of London with a Chevening Scholarship awarded by the British government in 2010, and received another LLM from the National University of Vietnam. He is an active member of the Chevening Alumni Chapter in Vietnam.
