May “Makara” Kunmakara serves as an analyst at BGA’s office in Cambodia. He provides clients with an in-depth analysis on the economic, business and investment environment, the government’s legal and regulatory framework and the main stakeholders in Cambodia.
Makara worked in the media sector for more than 10 years focusing mainly on political and social issues, the macro economy, the garment sector, banking and finance, capital markets, trade, investment, tourism and the international and regional environment. He has a very broad network in civil society, government institutions, the business community and non-governmental organizations.
Makara holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from Build Bright University in Phnom Penh, an associate’s degree in English literature and has completed several short journalism courses both in and outside Cambodia.
