Neena brings more than a decade of experience in trade policy and government relations as she provides in-depth analysis, research and strategic advisory services for clients in Malaysia.
Prior to joining BGA, Neena worked at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta and managed the regional grouping’s external economic relations with East Asian countries, the European Union, the European Free Trade Association and the MERCOSUR countries that form a South American trade bloc. She oversaw regular exchanges between the business community with ASEAN economic ministers and senior officials.
Earlier, Neena served with Bank Negara, the central bank of Malaysia, for nine years as part of Malaysia’s trade negotiations team for financial services. She pursued regional financial integration and cooperation initiatives while at the bank, which played a key role in shaping and advancing the country’s external financial policies.
Neena holds a Master of Public Administration from New York’s Columbia University, with a focus on economic and political development. As an undergraduate, she studied philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. She is an avid high-altitude hiker and is working to complete marathons on all seven continents.
