Nga Dao serves as an account manager on the BGA Vietnam team. She monitors and analyzes developments in government policies, regulations and the overall business environment across different sectors. She also advises clients on government relations and public affairs strategies and supports relationship building with government agencies and network development with the private sector and civil society organizations.
Prior to joining BGA, Nga worked as political advisor at the British Embassy in Hanoi where she monitored and provided analytical reports on Vietnam’s internal politics. She also advised the head of mission and the embassy’s management team on government affairs and engagement strategies, and built and developed relationships with key government and non-government stakeholders.
From 2011- 2016, Nga worked for Transparency International’s national contact in Vietnam, where she held the position of deputy executive director and then executive director. In these roles, she led the Vietnam team to successfully deliver Transparency International’s Vietnam Programs 2009- 2012 and 2013- 2015 which contributed to promoting transparency and good governance in Vietnam.
In addition, Nga has more than a decade of experience in journalism. She used to work for a number of media organizations, including the Vietnam Law and Legal Forum and the foreign language department of Vietnam News Agency.
Nga earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Queensland in Australia and a bachelor’s degree from Hanoi National University.
