Anya Marie Cruz

Anya specializes in analytical research on Indo-Pacific defense and security, semiconductors and energy issues affecting BGA clients in the Philippines. She also develops public affairs strategies focused on governance concerns. Anya concurrently serves as a senior public affairs associate at the Stratbase Institute.
Anya began her career at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where she researched and analyzed government policies in various sectors, including agriculture, innovation and intellectual property. She launched the chamber’s first innovation series, called innovation@PH, guiding the digital transformation of small enterprises in collaboration with organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Office, PLDT Enterprise and Lazada Philippines. She led the chamber’s satellite connectivity pilot program with the Department of Information and Communications Technology in remote areas of the Philippines.
Anya holds a master’s degree in global political economy from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Miriam College in the Philippines.
