Faiz Ahmed Chowdhury
Faiz has over a decade of experience in research, program management, policy advocacy and analysis. While specializing in Bangladesh affairs, his research interests include great power politics, the geopolitics of East and South Asia, democracy, electoral politics and environmental issues. His work requires him to frequently interact with policymakers, academics and practitioners.
Faiz has conducted extensive policy research with think tanks such as the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development, the Centre for Policy Dialogue, the Centre for Peace and Justice and Unnayan Onneshan, an organization that focuses on tackling poverty, injustice, gender inequality and environmental degradation. Faiz has led several research projects funded by the World Bank, the International Development Research Centre, the Department for International Development, the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Christian Aid. He has presented his findings at international conferences and regularly contributes to leading newspapers.
Faiz holds a master’s degree in public policy specializing in politics and international relations from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. He obtained another master’s and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh. Faiz is fluent in English, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu.
