Felix Jose Vitangcol

Felix is a licensed mining engineer who provides analysis on business risks and opportunities in public policy and stakeholder engagements, particularly in the environment, sustainable development, mining and agriculture sectors. Felix is adept in industry landscaping and development of strategic business approaches in the Philippines. He is proficient in engaging stakeholders to form partnerships to advance shared agendas and forward business concerns. As an engineer with an entrepreneurial background, he is committed to solving business problems while promoting sustainability. 

Concurrently, Felix is a senior research and advocacy associate at the Manila-based Stratbase Consultancy Inc. and a fellow for environment at the Albert Del Rosario Institute. He also serves as secretary-general of the Philippine Business for Environmental Stewardship, a non-government organization that advocates for sound developmental policies and governance to ensure effective stewardship of the environment as a prerequisite for public and private operations. 

Before his current positions, Felix practiced mining engineering in Mindanao. He performed mineral resource updates, pit optimization, bulk data analysis, mine planning, equipment utilization and daily mine production activities and reporting. 

Felix holds a Bachelor of Science in mining engineering from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and passed the Professional Regulation Commission Mining Engineer licensure exam in 2018. He has published commentaries in major newspapers to encourage strategic action on environmental stewardship, climate change, sustainable development and sustainable mining.
