Shruti Gakhar

Shruti is an experienced strategic advisor and researcher and works with clients across the Indo-Pacific region to navigate complex policy landscapes. Her experience covers multiple sectors including platform technology, information and communications technology, healthcare, manufacturing and financial services.

Shruti joined BGA as an India analyst in 2014, supporting clients by monitoring and analyzing business and investment trends, including legislative and regulatory developments. Previously she worked at the Brookings Institution’s India Center in New Delhi as a development officer. There she maintained and led the organization’s funding efforts and engagement with key stakeholders. Earlier as a Brookings India research assistant, she investigated developments in financial inclusion, health, education and trade. She coauthored a paper titled Advancing Financial Inclusion in India Beyond the Jan Dhan Yojana and wrote briefs on issues affecting India’s socio-political environment.

Shruti holds a master’s degree in international economic policy from the University of Westminster in London and a bachelor’s degree in business management. She’s a “third culture kid,” having spent her growing years in various countries. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
