Sarah is a qualified advocate and solicitor in the High Court of Malaya, Malaysia. Coming from a corporate legal background, she brings experience in domestic and cross-border acquisitions, joint ventures, legal and regulatory compliance, real estate property and banking transactions. She supports BGA clients with policy analysis, stakeholder mapping and engagement, strategic planning and advising on regulatory developments in Malaysia.
Sarah began her career as an intern at Rahmat Lim & Partners where she worked on litigation and intellectual property. She then worked as paralegal at Ong & Partners with a portfolio focused on real property and banking transactions. Later she enrolled in Brickfields Asia College to study for the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP), a post-graduate course and examination for foreign-educated students conducted by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia. Upon passing the CLP, Sarah went on to study in the chambers of Daniel & Wong before she was called to the High Court of Malaya as an advocate and solicitor in March 2021.
Sarah graduated with an LLB in law from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. She volunteered with the Reading Youth Offending Service, where she facilitated a program for young offenders with the goal of helping them not reoffend. Here she developed a deeper understanding of the criminal justice system, its relationship with local governments and the need to implement well-researched public policies that have long-lasting impact.
