Alvin M. Manalansan
Alvin is a health policy and consumer protection advocate with leadership roles across national coalitions and the private sector. He currently serves as health care and education convenor of CitizenWatch Philippines and co‑convenor of UHCWatch, where he champions the right to health and advances more transparent, accountable and people‑centered governance. He also serves as senior director for health at the Stratbase Group, leading work to strengthen the Philippine health system through evidence‑driven policy reforms.
Alvin contributes to public discourse on health and social issues, with commentaries published in major outlets including The Philippine Star and BusinessWorld. He also maintains an independent consulting practice in health, nutrition and food safety.
Previously, he worked with UNICEF, partnering with international and national agencies and local governments on various programs. Earlier in his career, he served as a senior regulation officer at the Philippine Food and Drug Administration.
Alvin is a registered nutritionist-dietitian and holds a Bachelor of Science in community nutrition from the University of the Philippines. . He has earned international certifications in public health program management, food and nutrition safety, global health response and social program evaluation.
