Farhan Amran

Farhan advises on public policy, regulatory affairs and stakeholder engagement, drawing on a unique blend of legal, governance and public affairs experience. His work focuses on helping organizations navigate the intersection of politics, policy, regulation and institutional decision-making in Malaysia’s evolving landscape. 

Prior to joining BGA, Farhan practiced as an advocate and solicitor, advising clients including government-linked companies, public-listed corporations and small and medium enterprises on regulatory compliance, commercial disputes, corporate governance and strategic risk management. His legal experience includes court advocacy, internal investigations and advising on complex regulatory and reputational matters. 

Alongside his legal career, Farhan was actively involved in national policy and governance initiatives centered on democratic development, institutional reform and civic participation. He played a leading role in programs designed to strengthen public understanding of constitutional democracy, parliamentary governance and the rule of law, while fostering meaningful engagement between policymakers, public institutions, civil society organizations, academia and youth leaders. 

Farhan holds an LL.B. with honors from the University of Malaya and is fluent in Malay and English. Outside his professional work, he is an active writer and thought leader whose published commentaries explore issues of governance, political reform, public policy and culture.
