Haruka Ijitsu
Haruka has extensive experience at the intersection of international policy, strategic communication and innovation, with an expertise in Japan’s space sector. She has worked with government agencies, nongovernmental organizations and leading private-sector actors to build cross-border partnerships and shape forward-looking strategies.
Before joining BGA, Haruka served as government affairs lead at a multinational space startup, where she oversaw international regulatory coordination and represented the company in dialogue with governments and multilateral institutions. She previously held roles as a senior research fellow at the Asia Pacific Initiative, leading initiatives to promote policy entrepreneurship and strengthening collaboration between Japan’s private sector and the global policy community. Earlier in her career, she worked at a “big four” firm on digital transformation and enterprise-wide strategy.
Haruka began her professional career at Japanese public broadcaster NHK as a news director. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international politics and international law from Gakushuin University and an MBA in international management from Aoyama Business School. She is fluent in Japanese and English and brings a deep understanding of how Japan’s policy landscape connects with global innovation trends.
