Hugh Bower

Hugh is responsible for exploring and coordinating expansion to new markets for BGA. He is focused on East Africa and is interested in the role of the private sector to drive growth in this region. 

Prior to joining BGA, Hugh conducted research on climate finance in Africa for an institutional investment platform and worked for a management consulting firm in Kigali, Rwanda. 

Hugh holds bachelor’s degrees in financial mathematics and business from the University of Virginia, where he was enrolled in the McIntire School of Commerce. 

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Hugh speaks Spanish and is learning Swahili.
