Manju Rai
Manju helps institutions navigate an ever-changing, fast-paced global economy, advising and guiding decisions in often ambiguous and uncertain circumstances. She has more than two decades of experience in financial sector regulation, government affairs, legal advisory and public policy.
Having held leadership positions at companies such as Wells Fargo, Western Union, American Express, ICICI Bank and other organizations, Manju is well-versed and has hands-on experience in the payments space, fintech, global capability centers, regulatory risk management, corporate governance, licensing and international contract negotiation.
Manju is acclaimed for her multifaceted business-centric approach. During her tenure with leading global financial institutions, she presided over the boards across multiple companies. She currently advises domestic and international fintech companies and serves as an independent legal adviser to the National Payments Corporation of India.
Manju has also been named among India’s Top 100 Women in Finance (2020) and received a government of India award for e-governance initiatives. In addition to her corporate work, she has contributed to innovation in financial risk systems, including patented solutions, and has been involved in social initiatives in the sector.
Manju has a Bachelor of Law and Master of Business Management from Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi, where she ranked at the top of her class, in addition to a doctorate in fintech and payments. She also has an MBA from Boston University.
