Sam Overholt

As a China policy and corporate risk specialist, Sam advises institutional investors and multinational clients on U.S.-China regulatory developments, government affairs, corporate due diligence, market access and stakeholder engagement across Washington and Beijing. He joined Yuan Associates in 2017 and focuses on China policy research, corporate risk and communications advisory.

Sam has more than a decade of experience working throughout China. He built and led the U.S. and global communications function for Hanshow, a Chinese retail technology company. He worked previously a senior associate in Weber Shandwick’s corporate and public affairs practice in Beijing, where he provided media and policy support to Chinese and international companies across a range of industries. He has also worked for the U.S. Commercial Service in Beijing and for Chinese universities and government think tanks.

Sam is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) Nanjing Center and of Bard College.
