Sefalana Makgatlhe

Sefalana brings experience across financial services, capital markets and wealth management, with a professional background spanning Botswana and the United Kingdom. 

She currently works as a dealing and research analyst at Motswedi Securities in Botswana, where she supports the execution and monitoring of listed instruments on the Botswana Stock Exchange while monitoring market activity, pricing movements and corporate actions. Her role provides exposure to both institutional and retail market activity as well as the broader regulatory and operational environment of Botswana’s capital markets. 

Previously, Sefalana worked as a junior financial paraplanner at a boutique wealth management firm in the United Kingdom, supporting senior advisers across financial planning and investment-related work. Her experience included portfolio analysis, pension and retirement planning, cash-flow modelling and work relating to wealth preservation and succession planning. 

Sefalana holds a Master of Science in finance from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in international business from Nottingham Trent University. Having grown up in Botswana and studied and worked in the United Kingdom, she brings an international perspective to her work.
