Venice Isabelle Rañosa

Venice tracks and analyzes movements in trade and investment, public policy and sustainable development that impact companies in the Philippines. While supporting BGA, she works as a research manager at the Manila-based Stratbase ADR Institute.
Venice’s expertise lies in translating information and data sets important to companies in a way that focuses on the important business issues and targets implications for investors. At Stratbase, she leads the publication of the quarterly Economic Snapshots of the Philippine economy and develops the principal content for virtual conferences on business and the economy. As part of the larger Stratbase Group, she produces policy briefs on the political, social and economic risks for industry stakeholders.
As part of her broader portfolio, Venice has provided research on tax reform, infrastructure development, public financial management, trade and investment, government transparency and good governance and the circular economy. She co-authored a special study on the extended producer responsibility in the Philippines, published by Stratbase in 2018. She has published commentaries in major newspapers on trade and investment, sustainable development, governance and political economy.
Venice graduated from De La Salle University in Manila with a master’s degree in development policy and a bachelor’s degree in international studies with honors. She was awarded a diploma in Spanish by the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, Spain. In 2017, she earned her Career Service Professional government eligibility from the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines.
