Venice Isabelle Rañosa
Venice specializes in trade, investment, market access and public policies that impact BGA clients in the Philippines. While supporting BGA, she is the research director of the Makati-based Stratbase Group and sits on the editorial board of its policy think tank arm, the Stratbase ADR Institute for Strategic and International Studies. Here she leads the quarterly publication of the Economic Snapshots, a review of the Philippine economy.
Venice’s expertise lies in translating information and data vital to foreign investors. Her in-depth experience covers trade and investment, legislative and regulatory research and landscape assessments for foreign investors. As part of the larger Stratbase Group, she oversees research on the political and economic risks facing industry stakeholders.
As part of her broader portfolio, Venice has done research on tax reform and public finance, infrastructure development, trade and investment, good governance and the circular economy. She coauthored a special study on extended producer responsibility in the Philippines, which was published by Stratbase in 2018. She has authored various commentaries published in major newspapers such as The Philippine Star and BusinessWorld.
Venice graduated from De La Salle University in Manila with a master’s degree in development policy and a bachelor’s degree in international studies with honors. She was awarded a diploma in Spanish by the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, Spain. In 2017, she earned her Career Service Professional government eligibility from the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines.
