Dr. Benjamin Jensen, PhD

Ben brings 20 years of experience in crisis simulations, planning and intelligence to help BGA clients analyze risk and opportunities in their businesses. Outside of BGA, Ben holds a dual appointment as a senior fellow for future war, gaming and strategy in the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and as a professor of strategic studies at the Marine Corps University School of Advanced Warfighting, near Washington, DC.
Ben has helped the U.S. government, universities and international organizations facilitate major alternative analysis and planning teams. Most recently, he worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies to adapt these methods to help them understand geopolitics and alternative futures. Earlier he supported U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Department of State initiatives associated with early warning, crisis response and contingency planning. He has 20 years of experience with the U.S. military where he continues to serve as a reserve intelligence officer.
Currently, Ben runs a program studying the future of war at CSIS. As part of this initiative, he facilitates wargames and crisis simulations for a mix of government and private sector actors trying to understand major global flashpoints and escalation risks. He is the author of four books and routinely contributes to major news and commentary outlets.
Ben is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received his MA and PhD from the American University School of International Service as well as an MS from the National Intelligence University.
