Dr. Gulshan Rai

Gulshan is a world class technology expert with more than 25 years experience in various areas of information technology, including cybersecurity and e-governance. He is renowned across the field for his deep understanding of the sector and impeccable ethics.

Gulshan served as India’s first cybersecurity chief, a position to which he was appointed by the prime minister in 2015. Earlier, he was the director general of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, an office in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to deal with cybersecurity threats. He previously served as executive director of ERNET India, the National Research and Education Network dedicated to support the needs of educational and research institutions in India. He also worked on developing the Information Technology Act for e-commerce.

Gulshan holds a Master in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi and a Master of Science from the University of Delhi.
