BGA Welcomes Anuj Gupta as Managing Director for India
BowerGroupAsia (BGA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anuj Gupta as the managing director of the company’s India practice. Anuj brings a wealth of experience and expertise in policy leadership and strategy, having played a catalytic role across India’s government and private sector.
India’s influence in the Indo-Pacific regional economy is steadily rising, fueled by its economic dynamism, strategic geography and pivotal role in shaping the region’s trade and investment architecture. As India assumes greater prominence, BGA remains committed to harnessing this momentum to advance our clients’ strategic objectives. Anuj is uniquely positioned to lead this effort, bringing the vision and expertise needed to drive meaningful impact.
Anuj’s distinguished career includes leading public policy efforts for the Indian multinational Tata Group, where he advised over 30 group companies on policy affairs strategy, influencing high-stakes outcomes across technology, finance and manufacturing. He also spent a decade in the Indian and Abu Dhabi governments, shaping flagship policies across trade and industry, energy, finance, technology, infrastructure and startups. As chief of staff to Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Anuj was instrumental in India’s recent trade and supply chain realignment, working on production-linked incentive schemes and negotiating free trade agreements with major economies.
Anuj’s work has helped transform India into a preferred destination for global manufacturing diversification, leveraging its large talent pool, growing domestic market and emerging trade routes. He has also supported India’s transition into one of the top four global energy markets, accelerating renewable energy expansion and enhancing coal production efficiency.
“We couldn’t be happier to have Anuj join us at such a critical time,” said BGA President and CEO Ernest Z Bower. “India’s growing importance within the Indo-Pacific and its role as a key supply chain node connecting the Middle East, Europe and Africa make this an exciting period for our clients and partners. Anuj’s expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we navigate these dynamic changes.”
Anju said, “Joining BGA is a tremendous opportunity to leverage my expertise and contribute to the success of our clients and the growth of India. I am eager to collaborate with our talented team and drive impactful solutions that address the dynamic challenges and opportunities in the Indian market.”
Anuj is well-positioned to demonstrate to BGA clients the important role India will play in the years ahead. His deep understanding of India’s economic landscape, combined with his strategic foresight, will empower clients to seize emerging opportunities and navigate the complexities of this dynamic market with confidence. BGA is thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the impact he will make with us.
