Aljon Genota
Aljon tracks and examines the banking and information communication technology (ICT) sectors in the Philippines, focusing on regulatory, economic, political and market developments and their impact on clients. He also works as a research associate at Stratbase Group, a think tank and consultancy based in Manila, providing research and technical writing support related to banking, ICT, trade and investment.
Earlier, Aljon served as a junior research and communications officer at the Department of Trade and Industry’s E-Commerce Bureau, where he monitored and analyzed the e-commerce landscape in the Philippines. He also aided his team in policy advocacy, ensuring the full implementation of the Philippine e-commerce road map, and supported internal and external communications. Aside from preparing materials for the undersecretary, he collaborated with various institutions from the public and private sector on fintech and micro, small medium-sized enterprise development.
Aljon obtained his bachelor’s degree in consular and diplomatic affairs from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
