Janitra Haryanto

Janitra, known as Je, helps companies in the digital and health sectors achieve their government affairs and public policy goals. Drawing on his experience and networks, he advises clients as they navigate content moderation, capitalize on investment incentives, mitigate political and regulatory risks and conduct due diligence. 

Janitra held multiple policy research and consultancy positions prior to joining BGA. He started as a policy researcher at the Center for Digital Society, a leading Indonesian digital think tank, where he led projects on content moderation, personal data protection and artificial intelligence (AI). He developed strong relationships with government stakeholders, sector experts and industry players during his tenure. Later, he worked as a consultant for the Asian Development Bank, where he helped regional development banks, such as the Bank Pembangunan Daerah, innovate their products to broaden financial inclusion. 

While studying in Singapore, Janitra leveraged his digital expertise and network to bridge into the corporate government affairs sector. He conducted graduate consulting projects with a global video streaming company, a multinational bank and a social media company. In these roles, he helped the organizations take advantage of investment incentives, build industry coalition and anticipate regulatory and political risks. He also interned at Grab’s regional public affairs team, where he formulated risk assessments and engagement strategies on data protection and AI policies. 

Janitra obtained a master’s degree in public policy from the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Gadjah Mada University. He enjoys blogging about food and traveling in his leisure time.
