Latifah Hasanah, MPH

Ifa leads BGA’s work supporting health care, pharmaceutical and food and beverage companies in Indonesia. She advises major pharmaceutical and medical device companies, translating regulatory challenges into targeted strategies that protect business interests, advance investments and support long-term growth. 

With decades of experience providing substantive advice and technical assistance to Commission IX of Indonesia’s House of Representatives, Ifa has deep experience with parliamentary and government decision-making. She played a central role in shaping parliamentary-government meeting agendas, informing legislative discussions and making policy recommendations and bringing patient groups and industry concerns into policymaking. She specializes in discreet, issue-based advocacy that puts priority issues on the government’s agenda, builds political support without direct client attribution and translates policy discussions into regulatory improvements. 

Ifa has an extensive network spanning the parliamentary leadership, senior officials at the Ministry of Health, the National Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM) and Indonesia’s Social Security Agency for Health (BPJS Kesehatan). Combining political access with expertise in health care, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and food safety regulation, she helps clients navigate market access, local content requirements, licensing, investment regulations and related regulatory and policy issues. 

Ifa holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Melbourne, supported by an Australian scholarship, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Gadjah Mada University.
