Vanessa Kang

Vanessa is an experienced analyst in public policy and journalism. Her work focuses on geopolitics, regulatory developments and business intelligence, with the objective of helping BGA clients identify and seize opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia more broadly. 

Vanessa previously served at Singapore’s Ministry of Defense in the Defense Policy Office’s Europe desk. In that role, she advised political leaders and top government officials on how to position Singapore in response to international developments. Later, Vanessa was a news producer at Singapore’s national broadcaster, Channel News Asia. She played a key role in shaping coverage on local and global politics. Some notable events she covered include the Singapore budget, the 2023 Singapore presidential election and the 2024 Taiwan elections. 

Vanessa holds a degree in political science and public policy from the Singapore Management University.
