Aarshi Tirkey

Aarshi is a foreign policy researcher with professional experience in tracking and analyzing developments in Indian policy, international relations and geopolitics. With a specialization in international law, Aarshi analyzes the domestic and global landscape to provide policy guidance for BGA clients.
Previously, Aarshi worked with the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi. At this leading think tank, Aarshi published several research papers, articles, opinion pieces and commentaries on themes intersecting international law and foreign policy. She examined how global developments influence and shape domestic law and policy. She has written on contemporary developments in emerging technologies, sanctions, trade, investment and global governance mechanisms.
Aarshi has also served as an India expert for DGAP Consulting, a subsidiary of the German Council on Foreign Relations, monitoring developments in India for clients in the industry sector. Before pivoting to policy research, Aarshi practiced as a lawyer at the High Court of Delhi on matters related to property law, environment, antitrust and intellectual property rights.
Aarshi completed a master’s degree in international and comparative law at the National University of Singapore, where she was a recipient of the Faculty of Law graduate scholarship. She received her bachelor’s degree in law from India’s National Law Institute University.
