Ellen Richards

Ellen conducts research, analysis and identification of opportunities for engagement by BGA clients in Japan. Ellen provides tailored content to help clients stay ahead of developments and advance policy proposals with domestic business and government stakeholders.
Ellen joined BGA’s Japan office in 2021 as its first intern and upon finishing her degree became a full-time analyst. During university, Ellen interned at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation where she supported the research team and helped organize events to communicate the potential risks and opportunities facing the U.S.-Japan alliance.
Ellen graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., as a student of political science and Japanese language and literature. She is half Japanese and half American and was raised in Tokyo, London and the United States.
