Ellen Richards

Ellen works with clients in the finance, fintech and related sectors, helping them navigate geopolitics, policy development and market trends across the Indo-Pacific. 

Formerly a finance-focused analyst with the BGA Japan team in Tokyo, Ellen provides clients with insights into how financial policy landscapes shift, mapping relevant stakeholders and the execution of tailored engagement strategies. In addition to finance, Ellen covered Japan’s constantly evolving “green transformation” and consumer goods. Ellen’s exposure to Japan brings a Northeast Asian lens to her work. 

Ellen graduated from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., as a student of political science and Japanese language and literature. She is half Japanese and half American and was raised in Tokyo, London and the United States.
