Robert Salapantan
Robert is a seasoned public affairs and government relations professional with extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic campaigns within complex regulatory and policy environments. He provides strategic counsel to businesses seeking to advance growth objectives, navigate regulatory challenges and manage issues that could affect their operations and reputation. His expertise spans engagement with government agencies, legislators, industry stakeholders, interest groups and the media.
Robert has significant experience in the financial services and information and communications technology sectors, advising organizations on public policy, stakeholder engagement and regulatory affairs.
He began his career in public affairs as a senior marketing executive for The Manila Times East, a Filipino newspaper based in New York. He later moved to Bremen, Germany, where he served as managing director of Interlink Network Handel GmbH, a Filipino trading firm. Upon returning to the Philippines, he joined Asia United Bank as senior manager for government accounts, where he led engagement efforts with government institutions and public sector stakeholders.
Robert subsequently served as a member of the board of directors of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines. He currently serves as an independent director of GM Bank of Luzon, one of the Philippines’ leading rural banks in terms of assets, and as senior adviser for public affairs at Philippine Stratbase Consultancy.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of the Philippines. He is fluent in English and Filipino and has a working knowledge of German.
