Rendy focuses on ICT, energy, mining and manufacturing, with an emphasis on political risk analysis. His expertise is in understanding political influencers in both the executive and legislative branches, and he has an extensive network in the Indonesian government. He also has a deep understanding of the policymaking process and government rationale for the regulatory frameworks that affect companies.
Prior to joining BGA, Rendy worked for seven years at the Ministry of State Secretariat where he spearheaded the development of the e-government system blueprint together with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology. The system was subsequently implemented by the Office of the Staff of the President, the Presidential Advisory Council and the Vice President’s Office. He also served as the executive assistant to the minister of the state secretariat, a position from which he briefed the minister daily on key issues. Rendy wrote speeches and prepared talking points for inter-ministerial meetings, making him heavily involved in the policy deliberation process.
Rendy holds a bachelors degree from the Faculty of Social and Political Science of Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Central Java. He obtained a masters degree in public administration from the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, New York.
