Arum is experienced in policy and regulatory research and advocacy across key sectors of the Indonesian economy including agriculture, trade, energy and the digital economy. As a researcher, she provides rigorous policy analysis to help BGA clients overcome business challenges in Indonesia.

Prior to joining BGA, Arum was a policy researcher at one of Indonesia’s leading think-tanks, the Center for Indonesian Policy Studies, where she covered food security, agriculture, investment and digital economy policy. She helped build the “Indonesian Food Monitor” which compiled statistical and regulatory databases on strategic food commodities in Indonesia. Arun’s work on Indonesian trade barriers was published as a case study by the Americans for Tax Reform Foundation.

Arum graduated first in her undergraduate class from the Department of International Relations, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with a concentration in global politics and security. During her studies, she received the merit-based Linnaeus-Palme scholarship to study for a semester at Malmo University in Sweden. In addition to her research experience, Arum is active in a range of community and international nonprofit initiatives including an interfaith dialogue, waste management and poverty alleviation.
